funkedup said that he would post his slider info that he has (hopefully pictures).

Would anybody else like to divulge their slider settings (pictures) that they are using for the Cougar.

I don't know about anybody else, but these slider setting are something that I have never played with before and don't really have a full understanding of what they are accomplishing

I use the cougar control panel to set the axis curve at +2 on X & Y.  Works smooth as a baby's bottom.

Thats where I am at.. I dont seem to be able to improve it to reduce the bouncing that is wrecking  my shooting. I can manuver great and I can shoot at high speed real well. But in a turn fight my shooting sucks and it is because of the nose bounce..
I always try to unload the controls befor I shoot. but doing that sends the nose bouncing now....
I tested in the TA the other night trying to follow a guy that was in a c47 with me in a Spit Vb. The problem was imediatly obvios. I counldt keep the cross hairs on him even when he was flying staight. the small corrections sent the nose bounceing.
So I tried varios changes in the Cougar profile but then I felt like I was flying a log.
I have read every thing in the cougar book but it asumes you know which imputs to change to get the result you want..I dont...
Cavs spring stretch sounds cool. I dont get tired flying mine but I sure feel it limits precision that the springs are so stiff.

I think most of us with cougars have the sliders all the way up then adjust with the cougar software not in game, plus personally i have all dead bands and damping in AH on zero.
Currently my setup in cougar software is -1 tried minus 3 did not like it have yet to try positive values.
Pongo you may want to try a minus setting say -1 as when i first tried it even set at zero i was overcorrecting all the time causing nose bounce, especially with the spring tension as standard you are actually fighting the stick for control rather than fighting the enemy.
And it sure sucks to see what should have been a sure kill escape because you could not get on target fast enough.
But i really do believe with the standard springs that keeping them is never going to help gunnery.

Sorry Pongo, that was actually -2 on both axis.  My AH setup is default, I've never changed the curves there.  I'm thinking you might have some sort of setup issues or your Cougar has a problem or I suck too much to notice it :), 'cause even without changing the curves I don't get any nose bounce.  It's been a big improvement for my close-in gunnery over my F22.

Pongo I don't know if this will help, I'm sure preference is VERY subjective, but I was haveing a very similar problem...

I Have all my sliders all the way up in AH.  I have the deadband in AH at 0% for all and the damping for pitch at 10%.

In the cougar control panel, X axis is at default.  6% deadband for all.  Y axis -24 trim curve 0.  (Shrug it works best for me.)

Slapshot this is what I mean.
I don't have a Cougar but this will reduce the sensitivity near the center point and prevent you from getting bounce (excitation of short-period mode of oscillation).

FWIW I have set the curve in AH to flat to allow all the control mod to be done in AH.  In the Cougar I have set the following

CURVE /U (JOYY,-3) (JOYX,0) (RDDR,-2)
/M (JOYY,-4) (JOYX,-1) (RDDR,-3)
/D (JOYY,-5) (JOYX,-2) (RDDR,-4)

The UPPER setting is a dogfight mode, MIDDLE is default flying mode and DOWN is landing/takeoff mode.
