Yep, I just read it over at the AGW board, too bad. Bobn was a fun guy, and always had a way of making reading the BBS interesting. He was the Lazs2 of Warbirds. No insult intended Lazs, BOBN had a way starting some spirited threads much like yourself.
RIP BOBN.:(

Yeah, he had a way of stirring things up all right.

Nonetheless, he liked the same thing we liked apparently.

And he did in fact win his RL wings and serve in VietNam.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

"High Flight" by John Gillespie Magee, Jr

I remember Bobn from my long association with Warbirds.  He was a good man.  He is in a better place.

Cc,

Bob was a good fella.  Only met him once but I was impressed with his person.  Hell of a nice guy.

I ain't gonna believe it till I can stick a pin in the body.

bobn proved to me long ago that with even a moderate amount of skill a few guys in fluffs could reset the game and that fighters were being allowed to play by the either/both   the incompetence / good graces of the fluffers.

WOW! Thats sad :(   Bobn.  AGW was pretty harsh on him at times, hope everyone can learn a lesson from this.  Life is precious, give your fellow man the benefit of the doubt.

Bobn was always friendly to me, a good competitor and in all my encounters with him, he was a good guy.

I will remember him that way.

Can't believe it!  Bobn taught me how to fly those multi-engined things, and was always really nice to me.  The fights he got into on AGW would make me cringe, but that was bobn I guess.

Sad news.   Bobn, may you rest in peace.

I remember riding in his Me109F during WB's wingman class.  He could really whip that thing around the sky.   He was at or near the center of more than one maelstrom, but that seemed to be his nature.

Whew.
