you'll want to use the manual settings...and a tripod (some exposures are 1/8 to 1sec which the human "shake" can easily blur the pic)
as far as settings for the camera:
- set the shutter speed to 1/4 or 1/2 or even 3/4 seconds. depending on your FPS will determine how many frames get included in the exposure of the image. (if the exposure is to fast or the FPS to slow, you will see the multiple images in your shots. The trick to getting the smooth motion blur is a still camera, smooth FPS and slower shutter speeds. experiment with the shutter speeds.
- make sure the camera is centered with the center of the monitor and the lens is perpindicular to the glass of the monitor. (you'll want to fill the camera view with the entire monitor glass. cropping out some of the monitor is best.
-TURN OFF THE FLASH, you'll blind yourself

it sucks, trust me.
-turn off any ambient lighting in the room (this causes glare on the monitor and sometimes comes through on the image. i could see myself in a few shots!!)
- you'll waste MANY shots, don't worry about it.
- you might try messing with the speed of the film playback also....slowing down the speed of the movement and using a long exposure time will get some cool effects.
- play with the different views in AH, F3 F4 F8 etc. they all center around the AC so it should almost always have some focus. I find that F4 gets some smoother images for the surrounding AC's sometimes.
i have a link at home to the guy that did this for IL2, i'll try and find it when i get home.
hope this helps.
