Billing Q for HTC
« on: June 12, 2002, 11:35:14 AM »
As far as I know the current system is that if you terminate your account you lose your perkies and your handle.

Any way to "lock" or "freeze" an account if one is going away for a short period of time?

I'm changing between cable and DSL and they wont send me the DSL gear until 3 weeks from now, and I'm going to disconnect the cable this week (its worse than a 56k now grrr).

Since I dont wanna lose my perkies or have to go through the hassle of ending account, making a new one and hounding HTC staff to get my old handle back.... well, is there any other option?

Tech support can be reached at support@hitechcreations.com. Account and billing support can be reached at billing@hitechcreations.com.

You could just keep the account and pay the 15$ instead of generating an hour worth of tech support which is more expensive :)

Yes.  Keep your account open - is it really worth the hassle otherwise for just 3 weeks?  :p

Tac, to save you the time to write to HTC the answer is NO.

I asked them before aswell and (for me atleast) I couldn't be done, was either close it or keep it.

I Sugest you keep it, much better to pay an extra $15 then to regain all perks.

Lol. Thanks HT ;) . I dont know if it will be 3 weeks or more anyway, I got a job (finally) that wil make me do the 5pm-2am shift for the next month or 2, so I dunno if I'll be able to play at all.

To add salt to the wound i'll be working for Steven.. the DELL DUDE *snork* hahahah. :p :D :o

Laz: Thats what I thought when I got mine. I had 1.5M connect. But the cable company added..and addedd...and added people to the line, plus I found out that ANOTHER cable modem company also uses my line for their cable modem service. Connect went from pings of 40 to 80 ms MAX to 250ms MINIMAL (now :( ) . The MA router change made it worse for some reason.. I was getting 110-180 ms before the change, week after wham! 250ms hehe.

DSL may be a lil' bit slower than cable, but damn at least it'l be a solid connect.

Cable is good for downloading large files.

DSL is 10x better for playing games over the internet.

Cable has packet loss while, if you get a good DSL service, DSL has no packet loss.

Nobody shares my line. I live out in the country and had to have it routed on Monday. ;) Yet, MA connect is still horrible.

my dsl Runs at 733 kbps and my MA ping  went from 81 down to 71-74 after the change.

I do get Disco's now and then with my dsl but its ussually one of the connections/relay points along the way . (during prime time )
so i stay outta perk planes during those hours

so i cant say yes or no about the new main routing.  All i can notice is a little better ping and a few less disco's from the htc server.
