Its funny....
« on: June 14, 2002, 10:19:43 AM »
18 months ago I predicted by perking the F4U-1C, that the N1K or the Spit would be called to be perked next.  Thank you all for making me such a envisionist. :p

Any thoughts on what plane folks will want to perk after they run out of breath on the N1K and the Spit?  OH! LA7...hehehehehehe!

Well Rip, I actually was saying that the next plane with the best percieved advantages would be the next in line for perking during the whole "Perk the Chog" campaign... so you aren't the only one. ;)

Hey Rip:

Shhhhhhh!  Quit stirring up trouble!  Things have been quiet on the board for a week regarding perking perceived uber planes!  :D

I have to agree with yeager. I'd like to see all the late war stuff cheaply perked, even the 109G10. P40's and Wildcats are gonna be food.

What do you want? a bone?

everyone and his brother thought that and said the samething.

Its the Nature of the Beast.

Even so the perking of the chog was good fer gameplay. At the time I didnt care either way. I never flew the chog. But it was getting around 20% of the kills, by a plane whos impact  on the real war was 0.

Now I think HT was dead on about perking it.

As the the planeset expands with more early and mid war planes I would agree with expanding the perk system to include the late war birds. Even with 1.10 on the way we still dont have enough choices.

Ideally it would work best if we had a late mid early models of each plane. But thats years away. VVS guys suffer badly with just 4 fighters, 2 of which are late war. IJN/A are in worse shape.

But even if and when the late war birds are perked people will call for the best of the mid war to be perked. Hell folks call for the spit 9 to be perked now.

As long as perks are assigned arbitrarily there will be arguments about what should be perked and how much.  If planes were perked based on their % of overall kills there would be nothing to argue about.  The Hog-C was in desperate need of perking, and at 8 points it's still the best bang for your buck of all the perked planes.

Yeah, perk all late war rides - then we poor Spit IX pilots will stand a better chance :)

i dunno about all that either :)

I remember right after 1.04 the niki spit f4u threads were just as vehement as they are now just absent the perk request.

I also seem to remember perk the chog and why you're at it perk this that and the other thing.......:)

I have no desire to search through a year of perk this threads so
I'll play along

Wow! Nice Call Rip!!!!

LOL Wotan! (Actually, this thread is just a reminder that in ANY flight sim, your never going to please everyone, and there's always one, two maybe three planes everyone calls UBER ;) )
