Do217 is a MUST have...He177A5 too...

Both unperked...or perk them along the better-turning-than-a-spiftire-at-30k B17 :D

One thing is for sure, you'll see no stratoHe177s or Do217s...IIRC both had service ceilings lower than 22.000 feet :)

nothing worth being perked, that's fer sure :)

Do 217 K-3 was improved version from K-2. K3 could be fitted with up to four missiles or "lufttorpedos". This particular plane got  four LT 4 torpedoes under wings...

Edit:
Do217 M series was based to K series plane, main difference was greater wing span and more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 603A engines 1,750 hp (1305 kW). K series plane got only BMW 801D engines 1,700 hp (1268 kW). DB 603 A engines and new wing gave M series plane better high altitude perfomance thus service ceiling was improved to 31,170ft (9500m) :D

(on a completely unrelated note: I noticed that in the last release Warbirds implemented a system whereby bomber gun's can't be fired if it's performing extreme maneuvres (more than x number of gs or y degrees of bank)--what do you think about that as an idea in AH?)

Anything from the 217K series would be a great addition as well, nice suggestion.

The Ju88 is only a flying coffin if flown inappropriately. Under what conditions are you flying it, Fishu? Scenarios? MA? In numbers? With sweep/escort? Local air superiority? Cloudy weather? At night with no icons? :-)

It's all a matter of where/when how you use it. The Ju88 is a fine plane, and the Do217 would be a far better and overall more useful addition to AH than the He177. I'd rather see more of the more common planes added to AH - like most of the Reggia Aeronautica and the Pe2, the He111 and Do17 and 217  -before adding yet another relatively rare plane.

Also, I'd like to see engine-overheating added into the game, at least for bombers, and possibly fighters as well (although as something that can be turned on or off overall by CMs).  That'd slow bombers to more realistic speeds and altitudes so that fighters could make HO attacks with at least no more difficulty than in RL. It might also get some fighter jocks out of the habit of thrashing around at 100% throttle constantly, too, when what they ought to be doing is going full throttle only when just about to engage in combat.  And if reliability was thrown into the equation... eheheheh... no-one'd want to fly the He177 in the MA! :-)
