Spits are fun. You can have a great fight with the high bouncers. Just stay around and make them work for it.

Don't win a whole lot of those altercations but they sure are good fights.

And when you do win, you've created another spit hater

;)

I have found the key to being succesful against spits.  Find the "Training Wheel Facility" in any of the three countries........bomb the snot out of it.  This reduces the Spits uberness by at least 20%

i just cant get over the pink tutu flight suit you gotta wear in order to fly umm.

I always figured the reason they performed so well was due to the pilots being so light in their britches.

I find hard to believe a fellow as manly as Urchin would disobey one Tanks golden rules "Spitfires are for Sissies".

who da thunk.........

Bomb the Pampers factories in Germany and the LW pilot readiness is cut in half. ;)

"P51D does for 6 hours what the spitfire does for 45 minutes" Chuck Yeager, Discovery Wings channel, program about dogfighting, and he had a Big grin when he said it.

Any plane can be fun if you manage to win a few good fights and RTB.

Yeah, but Hristo, anything that isn't a dead 6 o'clock shot is an HO, at least if you read this board.;)

I usually have fun in the Spitfire. I also like the Hurri IIC, in which I dispatch Spitfires without much trouble, if the pilot trys stallfighting instead of using his better speed and acceleration. The smart Spit pilots take the fight vertical where the Hurricane is a dog. The not-so-smart Spit pilots make level or descending turns and quickly die.

I'm not flying either type much this tour. Instead, I'm spending most of my time in the Yak-9U and P-51B. With the Yak, you can outrun anything you can't out-turn. It's a great platform for killing Mustangs, Typhoons, F4Us and all 190s.

Hristo it's a good (and historical) tactic when the LW has 5k alt advantage.  :)

Now ask yourself why is "fun" to fly while hurries, C202, C205, La5, 109F, F4U1A, Ki61, P51B, etc seem to be "boring" planes.
Perhaps cause its guns? Perhaps cause its E retention? Perhaps cause its handling? Unperk the Tempest and all the people will find it very "fun" to fly also.
