Great utility to estimate dispersion!


P.S.: ... does it mean that buffs 0.50's lethality, velocity, bullet size, capacity to fire through the fuselage are ok and/or will be fixed?

The most needed issue is to fix the gun firing arcs so that they can't fire thru rudder or thru fuselage.

Otherwise buffs are fine - at least below 20k.

why would I be upset zygote?  i would like to see the dispertion from the flexible side guns and from fiters fifties tho.   what i have been "upset" about is that all the guns are "slaved" to one guy while he's flyin the plane no less and it appears that some of em shoot thru his own plane to get you and....  why doesn't 30-100 fifties in the fuselage kill everyone on the buff?   and.... why do the bombs have such a ridiculous dispertion and why do buffs and their bombs have such a lopsided effect on the game and.....

Nice utility tho.

Kinda hard to attack "straight from the top" when 9 out of 10 drivers will stomp the rudder to stand in 60degree bank manuevers to bring at least 5 guns to bear initially, then 7 as aspect angle changes and you end up doing a stern attack because of incredible turn rate a B-17 gets at 60degree bank from the gun position.

If you were the ball gunner on a B-17, and an enemy fighter was approaching from 6:00, slightly low, and the tail gunner was already shooting at him, would you shoot at him as well?

I don't get the argument that AH gunners should only get to fire 1 gun or turret.
Buff gunners shot at any enemy that they could point their guns at.  One of the biggest problems with gunning in AH is that 1 person is doing the job of 6+ (in a B-17).
B-17 gunners talked to each other and worked together to fight off the enemy.

They didn't take turns.

It's just silly.

I'm not saying gunners should be limited to firing only one position at a time.

What is silly is standing the kite on its wing and still getting the "perfect group" out of the guns and basically negating the best kind of attack on buffs.

It wasn't directed at you Cavey,
It's a whine that has been around ever since the B-17s guns were made opperational back in the beta days.  Back when you and I and others would get 6 kill B-17 sorties because so many folks (including myself) didn't have a clue how to best attack a bomber.

BTW all, if you are having trouble taking buffs down, fly them, gun from them, you will learn the best methods, and the worst methods, by becoming the target.

Diving attack on b17, especially when its yawing with rudder is really effective.  considering when your vertical how easy it is to roll into position, you really cant miss.  just drop the throttle when your over and slightly ahead of the 17, and wack em good.  Virtually impossible to get hit.
