Weird cougar problem in AH
« on: June 17, 2002, 09:14:35 AM »
I just upgraded from w98 to xppro on my machine, no hardware changes.

My cougar view system was working fine on AH with w98.  Now that I have xp set up when I load my AH profile for the cougar my right_front and left_front views always are up_45 views in AH.  When I hit the 'up' key nothing changes.

The programming in the profiles uses logical programming with dx buttons (set in AH) but a profile that uses the same logical programming but with keypad keys (and no dx buttons set in AH) produces the same result.

All other views act as before. I get level views until I add the 'up' key then I get the up_45 view.

What could be going on? AH is a fresh install on this machine. Everything else in the profile seems to be ok , just these two views are messed up.

Do you have a "shift" button built into your Cougar profile? Is it possible that if you have a switch mapped to something like that you have hit it and do not realize what has happened.

Is your forward hat push supposed to give you a forward_yp view, and if so, are you using the "forced corners" macro?

USE HAT1 FORCED_CORNERS

Rem -------------------------
Rem           Hat 1
Rem -------------------------

BTN H1U /I Look_forward_up
        /O Look_forward
BTN H1UR Look_forward_right
BTN H1R Look_Right
BTN H1DR Look_back_right
BTN H1D Look_Back
BTN H1DL Look_back_left
BTN H1L Look_Left
BTN H1UL Look_forward_left

The above would exhibit behaviour similar to what you're describing

Here is the part of the profile that does the views.  This is the same method posted by SOB a while back.  The DX buttons are mapped in AH.  All worked fine in w98.   The weird part is it only affects the forward diagonals, not the rear.
