Aviation Buffs & Know-it-Alls... HELP!
« on: June 17, 2002, 11:03:08 PM »
I am trying to compile a list of first dates of service for the planes (and sub-types) of Aces High.  I'm having a harder time than I imagined.  Most every book or web-site that I have checked is not in-depth enough to show the month and year of first combat service for our planes.  If someone has a good source of information, could they please post it here?  "WARPLANES OF THE THIRD REICH" (Green) does a pretty good job for most of the German planes  (although I read the 190A-8 section several times and still didn't find a date/season for our A-8).  The US planes were built in blocks and I haven't been able to find specific info on block releases.

You help would be appreciated, as this would be great info for anyone working on a SEA event or CT set-up.

I imagine that perhaps it's already been done?

thanks,

eskimo

I think you can get dates for all the American fighters from "America's Hundred Thousand."
