18 Gruppo, 3 Stormo, "Vespa Arrabbiata"
KG2

Allies

FRAME CO's
Frame1:

Allies - Busher

Frame2:
Axis - Clouds
Allies - Rotty

Frame3:

(I decided to give a change to our TOD newbies here. Esme and Warloc - if you think you can't handle it in Frame 3, please let me know)

News flash: Axis got Bf109F4's in limited number shipped to A23.

I'm gonna send Frame  1 orders to the CO's today :)

My only concern about CO'ing is if we only have 3 pilots that frame including myself; with me staying on the ground to CO, it'd reduce KG2 to just 2 pilots.  Otherwise, no problem here, I've had a little side-CO'ing experience in WB, happy to give it a go here.

I would ask that the allied Squadron Leaders write to me with their EMails so that I may forward the assignments for Sunday - also I would appreciate an estimate of the numbers you expect .

Many thanks

Most of Frame CO job is to prepare and send dedicated orders to your side squads. You will recive frame 1 and frame 2 orders before, so you will have idea how to do it (i'm sure you already have :)). There are some things to do before frame starts and like "in flight" duties - it's more like a coordinating all actions.
You can allways give command of your Squad in your squaddie hands so you can follow your group and focus on coordination other squads and helping them follow what you designed.

How about this- you wil reconsider it after first frame and let me know then. is it ok?

It depends on the scenario, but I usually reckon to be staying on the ground if CO'ing. The reason is that it takes enough concentration to lead a bomber unit without trying to handle several other units as well.  Or vice-versa. Exceptions are things like, say, night raids over the UK, where other than give units their targets and start times, there's nothing to do as side-CO. If I was CO'ing say, the defence of the Reich in a late-war game, there's no way I'd go airborne as well; that situation NEEDS the CO to have a firm grip on the situation as it develops.

I'm not saying I'm not willing to CO, m'dear; just saying that if/when I do, KG2 may well then be reduced to just 2 pilots actually flying, and I'm supposed to be trying to ensure we have at least 3. But sure, let's see how frames 1 and 2 go; I might feel comfy about leading whilst airborne if we're almost entirely on the offensive, as in this scenario.

Esme

PS: I havent received orders as to home field or target yet. Request I be sent these asap so I can plan our route and loadout asap, and pass timings on to the fighter units escorting us. I need to know what the fuel modifier will be in-game and also what kind of strength winds to plan for. (Would up to 30mph cover it?)

Esme,
Expect orders from Ammo, who is Axis CO of first frame :-)
I'm flying on Allies side in this one and i don't know and don't want to know your orders ;)

Sorry about lack of arena settings info:

here we go:
Icons short
Radar off
Kill Shooter off
Fuel 1.5
Downtime 8 (2 hours)
Terrain Sicily

I submited it on a events webpage, but it's under redesigning process so it's unavaliable temporarely.

Squire

Your squadron - the 880 Fleet Air Arm is Allied this tour, is it not?

Thanks
