Good ole banks...

No phone call, no certified letter to tell me they did this. How do I find out? Buying a pizza at Domino's. Check my bank balance, over $500 in there....give the kid my bank card, Decline. Thankfully I had my other account.

Apparently VISA told my Credit Union that myself and others had card numbers that *may* have been compromised. A new card, and number, are on the way. The only real hassle is the stuff I have on autopay (Aces High and Dish Network).

Anyone else been through this recently? I wonder where the "compromise" may have been?

Yeah Le Paul, I read something about that. Appearantly a premium gay website got hacked into and the hackers got ahold of all the credit card info for the subscribers. I hope the hackers didn't use YOUR credit card info:)

BTW, does your ACD go nuts over sprinklers and hoses?

I had AmEx "cancel" on me because I didn't use it in a long time... never a notification of any kind.

They kept the $55 annual fee though...

Gay website? Pffft....not me...well, ok, I confess...I'm a LESBIAN :-)

Sprinklers and hoses? Oh yea....start one, she's in it. She loves the water...go to the beach, >kaplosh< she's in the water swimming around. Got her a life jacket and she just cruises all over the place now. She's a tard, but I love her.

I've never had that happen with my credit card, but here in Calgary some asian gang had the technology and the codes to hack your regular debit card, and they had a double scanner hooked up to the debit machines at 3 or 4 locations in Calgary.

Thousands of people got ripped off, since these punks could access your account, and they'd dump in an empty envelope and withdraw cash against a check that wasn't in it at an ATM.

Anyhow, the cops amazingly enough nailed them in a matter of days, and anyone who had used a machine at one of the locations during the time period in question got their card suspended by the bank, and a new one issued the same way your credit card was.

I was out for dinner, and my debit card was CACELLED when I tried to use it. The bank is usually slow when it comes to service, but I guess when it comes to protecting their own ass, they are capable of swift action.
