System:

Some old 500Mhz heap with no sound card and a crappy video card, running Win 2000 (the office PC). I have admin rights.

Game installs fine but when running AH I get the error:
"The ordinal 12 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSOUND.DLL"

Ok, so what do I do to get around this one?

re install directX you likely have an outdated version

I installed DX8.1 for win2k, gets a little further this time......now I got as far as choosing the video mode (selected 8x6, 16bit) and then the game tried to start......only to fail with:

initialization failed with -5
mainSN_FAILED -2

Wassat mean then?
