Cursor problems (anywhere)
« on: June 21, 2002, 02:28:58 PM »
Anyopne have this problem? The cursor never rests on the buttons on the clipboard. It seems to want to go around them, and it's gotten to the point where I need to move the ball manually with my thumb, as opposed to navigating the mouse in the traditional way.

This is a relatively recent problem. any suggestions?

Sounds like you have some shi.... erm dust on one of the 2 rollers inside the mouse (One is for vertical, one for horizontal movement). Sounds like it needs cleaning... If it aint that, no idea sorry.

Flip your mouse over and rotate the little ring which holds the mouse ball in place in the direction opposite the arrows.  Remove the ball and clean and dry it.  Inside the mouse you will generally see 3 wheels which contact the mouse ball.  Gently remove all dirt from them with a q-tip or equivilant.  Put the mouse back together.

That should do it.
