.squelch 1 - It works!

Didn't know that this actually worked but it does!

Now I don't need to listen to the whines, bleats, namecalling, and squeakes about HO's, chute shooting, runstangs, and the other junk from the dweebs that can't fly and fight so they resort to squeaking.

It really does work and adds tremendously to enjoyment. Siskel and Ebert give ".squelch 1" two thumbs up.

I like  the entertainment occasionally of ch.1, but where squelching it really shines is when you are playing General and getting folks organized for a strike (Once again, nice work on A19 last nite guys, did we get A4?  Had to log as we were trying to capture it)

I unsquelched 1 last night to congratulate whoever dumped the Rook radar, and immediately found out why I always squelch 1.

Someone accusing someone of sucking certain body parts; retorts of a girlfriend's certain body part.......(whatever happened to something simple like "Your momma wears army boots"?).

I gave the compliment and re-squelched 1.  I'll get the important stuff from the bbs.

I believe that you can still sent messages to 1 even if you have it squelched.  You just won't see the message or replies to it.

The first thing I do upon entering the arena is squelch 1.  Interstingly, the recorder records 1 even if squelched.  Occasionally I view a film of a fight and see all the childish comments and am reminded why I squelch it in the first place.  Some people get frustrated when you refuse to play to their name calling and it's fun to read all this later during the film replay.

I seem to recall an incident the other night where you typed on ch.1 a particularly vulgar and nasty remark directed towards myself. Maybe if we all refrained from typing the 1st thing that pops into our heads on ch.1 and treating others as we'd like to be treated, it would be a more enjoyable radio channel to tune in.

I use channel one to Greet people, and to render <Salutes> to the opposition, for the most part when someone starts using profane/graphic text, I squelch that person, not the whole arena. We should all remember how we would feel if someone used that type of conduct around our children, wives, or mothers.
Please don't fool yourself into thinking we don't have some of those either playing the game or peering over our shoulders watching us play.

<SALUTE> Renfield, it's your 30 dollars to spend anyway ya want, it's not my intent to stop you from squelching ch.1 or to critize your decision to do so.

I like the banter on divorce court channel 1, plus if i squelch it that just leave me to pick'n my nose for entertainment when i grab alt.

I guess it's akin to the enternainment one derives from "Jerry Springer". Often I enjoy and at times partake in the banter of the online drones . I see other players as part of the video game. Drones with sophisticated AI, there for my benefit and amusement, kind of like real life .

My point to all this is YOU should be the last person complaining about the content of the buffer on ch.1, but as you've decided to squelch ch. 1 the point is mute, you won't be tuned to it, so with any luck we won't be seeing any more of your moronic text on it.

Although it is quite humorous that you should complain of whining on ch.1, then come to this BBS to whine about whiners.

My initial comment was probably a bit boastful (as you pointed out repeatedly and how I should be doinked for it) but it was a comment in fun. Hi RAM. Glad to see your little twerpy butt in here. I still hear you bleating about the HOs. I'm also still waiting to hear your explanation on how two planes pointed nose-to-nose can only be blamed on one pilot -  and it's never you. I think a number of people would love to hear that explanation.

The "vulgar and nasty remark" IS "rode you like a nickel HO" it was that remark that made me aware of your presence, the kill was nothing, until that remark I'd never communicated with you before. I didn't get nasty I replied with; "Your not that good Renfield" and "what's your point? Besides the one your hat covers up?"
