NOE-meaning of.....
« on: June 26, 2002, 04:39:53 PM »
Well Waffle and I had a "discussion" about what NOE stood for, so I thought I would clear it up. Waffle thought it was "Nape of the Earth"  while I thought it was "Nap of the Earth."

I have included links to a few sites that mention NOE missions, and actually refer to them in the full text. As can be seen the term "NOE" stands for "Nap of the Earth."

Hope this clears it up for anyone who has the slightest interest.

sorry , your both wrong , NOE stands for "not over england", it is a standing order by the 8th AF to end the pratice of the yankee cowboy pilots buzzing the sheep herds in england , but of course it was ok over europe , so when a low level mission was called for it was refered to as a "NOE" mission    :D

Nap is the fuzzy stuff on animals head. Or the pouring of sauce over foods.

Nape is the back of the neck.

NOE is flying fediddlein low.

Hope this helps.

You're all wrong
Nap is what I wish I could do at work after lunch
Nape is found on the back of a girls neck, usually for kissing and tickling.
