Rip, I "don't recall" who Reagan was. I "have no recollection" of his presidency at all!

LOL!

LOL!!

Nifty, ME TOO! ;)

(Incidently, I'm not a big Reagan supporter, but only if it pisses some left wing wacko off, then I am a BIG supporter!)

Heh, I like this thread.

Gun control - I am a hunter and am against more controls of ownership.  I am for fairly strict controls of rights to carry, though.  I believe that for most crimes involving a perpetrator with a gun, the danger to innocents would be increased if you have a poorly-trained, gun-toting John Wayne-wannabe trying to ride to the rescue.

Abortion - I have been pro-choice, but I waver on this a bit.

Environment/animal rights-  Attaching anywhere near the same rights to animals and/or plants as one does to humans is moronic.  We live in a finite world that has limits, though, so there has to be some degree of conservation and environmental protection.

Isrealipalistiniancrap - Israel is as much to blame for the level of hatred between the two sides as the palestinians are.   Opportunity for negotiated peace has probably been successfully sabotaged by hard liners on both sides and external elements (i.e. the people making this a holy war).  A true, lasting peace in the region will likely not come until hard liners on both sides are out of power.

Capital punishment - Against it until the overriding factor of whether or not someone is spared the death penalty is not their guilt or innocence but rather the financial resources that they have available for a defense.

Religion - I am all for freedom of religion.  State-sponsored religion scares me.  Personally, I am agnostic.

Public education-  My most liberal area.  I believe if we are going to have public schools, then all kids should have as close to the same opportunities of education in those schools as possible.  I'd like to see the funding system nationalized, with all federal, state and local education funds pooled and distributed equally per student to all public schools all over the country.  Control of spending, curriculum, etc... is still left up to the local school boards/agencies.  No vouchers.  Accountability is good, as long as it is not in a form that limits the resources available for students.

Flag burning - Distasteful, but perfectly within someone's rights.

Affirmative action - Against.  It was once needed to level a grossly disproportionate field of opportunities, but that time has passed, imo.

hehe Lance, we're similiar, but different...all I can say is my post would have to be split up into two different catagories, that being "BC" and "AC" (Before Children, and After Children).  I guess you could say during college I was more of a democrat than a republican, I let the professors get into my head alitte...today, with a family, and a future, my thoughts have changed in regards to politics.

Gun Control - Against - It looks to be a failure for stopping crime where ownership has been banned or heavily regulated. Criminals dont care about gun laws now do they?

Abortion - Against - I can see (and sympathize) both sides, but I would never vote on a canidate based on his/her position on this issue.

Religion - is a personal choice - way too many people believe for me to argue about it. Some very intelligent people believe , Carl Sagan, Albert Eienstien , Bill and Hillary Clinton (you calling them liars )

Death Penalty - For - if for no other reason then to piss off Bianca Jagger.

Animal Rights - Against - they have a right to be grilled, baked, boiled and worn as coats.

Public Education  - For - we need someplace to keep the little bastards off the streets during daylight hours. I do like the concept of vouchers considering how putrid the public education system really is.

Drug Legalization - For - legalize it and tax the fek out of it. Use 1/2 the tax recipts for drug rehab and education the other half for paying down the national debt. It would take about 5 years to be ahead of the game.

Evolution - any theory that has a missing link needs work. Then again creationism seems like an easy way to end the chicken or egg argument.

Pledge of alegiance - for - if two words "under God" bother you that much you need a hobby

Israel/Pal - Please, Please, Please give the Pals a country of their own so Israel can declare war and get it over with. The rest of the Arab world is using the Pals as a tool to further their islamic hatred of everything democratic.

Rooks vs Knits and Bish - For - we need as many targets as possible.
