Some of the guys in our squad have been discussing how cool it would be to fly unarmed `lightened' recon aircraft in this game, but there would need to be a reason for them. Some of the ideas we came up with are as follows:
1. Have only detailed (Dot location) RADAR over home territory. You would only see grid counters in enemy airspace. If you were going to attack an airfield, you would probably want detailed info of what was going on in the `target' grid. So a recon aircraft would have to fly over the enemy airfield (Say below 10k to keep things interesting and to get more detailed info....I would say the deck but the AI ack is too deadly) and activate its cameras during the run. Upon making a `succesful' landing at an airfield, the RADAR in the target area would then become the `localized' accurate RADAR we currently have everywhere. This would last for 1/2 hour and begin when the pilot enters the tower.
2. Tied in with #1 or as a seperate reason for having recon aircraft, make it so you could only recieve `strategic' information on bases, cities, Industry, etc., after a recon aircraft has overflown those facilities and succesfully recovered to an airfield. then let that strategic information be available for 1/2 after landing at an airfield and entering the tower.
We just though it could make for some cool `single' plane missions. Anybody have any variations on this theme?
