Axis orders for Frame 2 - problem
« on: June 30, 2002, 05:34:07 AM »
I'd saved the orders out as text, and copies of the JPEGs relevant to my unit, then deleted the copies of the orders in my in-box, as my email program was struggling with them. Went to look at the text file, and there's bugger all there. So I now dont have a copy of the text for the orders.

Can I suggest that side-CO's do NOT use HTML to send orders out in future? Plain text is far more reliable!  Also a damned shame for that much work to get screwed up by difficulties in getting it to its intended recipients.

Anyway, I do at least have the route I am to fly, from the JPEG. I will work out timings based on that and contact Fariz and GA with them.

Ive managed to recover a copy from the trashcan (thank Windows' inefficiency for once!) and copy and pasted the text into Notepad, and mailed it to Swoop. Also sent a copy of the route map for Swoops unit, waiting to hear from Swoop if he needs the other two pics.

Have emailed GA and Fariz regarding the bomber plans, waiting to hear back from 'em.

No. I MUSTn't. You mean I'd NEED to in order to do what you think I should. :-)  I do not WISH to receive HTML email, I had problems on a mailing list before with people sending huge HTML emails for trivial things which was a complete pain in the arse. the orders dont need to be in HTML format.

As was I EVENTUALLY received the orders OK - FOUR times - but rather late.  I really, really dont want to receive that much in the way of HTML and JPEGS in the space of 24 hours again, especially when ity's the 24 hours only just before Ive to put the plan into action! :-}

Not your fault, m'dear, it's just the way things panned out with the Internet being slooooooow to deliver.

Only thing I'd say is that you didnt NEED to send JPEGs of our targets, beautifully done though those were. What we had to hit was quite clear from our orders.  Ideally we'd each have had just the routing stuff and plain text orders.

As it was, that was a helluva lot of work you put in for a plan we couldn't pull off... :-(   Too many damned RAF, not enough 109s... :-}

Nice plan, though! :-)

Sorry Flossy but........I can't believe you (or others) cannot close a forum room with a password and send the password to all AXIS or ALLIES squad CO's whom could enter only their respective forum room. :confused:

Obviously that password must be changed during every frame.

Anyway this is an interesting challenge on wich to pay attention don't you think so ?;)

Uhm....maybe I have choosen the wrong forum for this post .:cool:
