Question & Pre-Mature Thought for 1.11
« on: June 30, 2002, 08:12:06 AM »
(i bet ya thought i was gonna say "ejaculation", didn't ya?)  :p

concerning the icons:  why is it that we have "normal" icons, "friendly" only icons, and "plane type" only icons?  the type of icon i want most (as i have a system that is getting dated, with only a 64 meg card) for those times when there is a major furball going on, is an "enemy only/enemy plane type only" icon.

this would be useful...ie, less confusing and easier on the persons' system, during those times when everyone and their mother is bunched into one area.  maybe we could "ax" for this to be an update in 1.11?

just a thought.

and by the way...before anyone starts posting comments like "blah blah blah...get a new system if furballs mess you up so bad...", i'd just like to say bite me...hard!.  some of us have college degrees and work meaningful jobs with the u.s. government and don't have any money since they took it all away to give to the uneducated boneheads who are now working as screeners in the airports.  :D   hehe

by the way...has it been "two weeks" yet"?! :D :p

I know you probably meant no harm with your not so well thought out post so in good fun here's an attachment for you:

No but 10 years of savings and a 401k on which i'm paying taxes (ie salary for government types) has proven to be a life saver.  But hopefully if it comes to it, welfare will pay enough for my AH subscription.  (computer was actually purchased just prior to the pink slip...thank god..would i be bored without it)

No I believe I was referring to government workers here in the US like my local congressman who took his family and entire staff to Afghanistan to "appraise the situation" on US taxpayers dollars?  Mean while people in his home state are losing their jobs homes and life savings...that's a real "meaningful" use of time and money.

Who are you talking about, the taliban or el Qaida?  I don't think they were working for the US government but no doubt the government trained some of them during the russian/afghan war.  I hope your not suggesting I was referring to the US military because that would be a real twist of my words.  You don't happen to work for my congressman do you?

Funny you should mention screeners in the airport.

Talk about a flying adventure to get to my brothers yesterday. After a mechanical cancelled my 1st flight, I waited 3 more hours for another flight. Fortunately it had seats available, unfortunately a 90+ year old "screener" deemed my carryon baggage unfit for overhead bin storage when i tried to use this alternate flight.

With a keen eye he knew it would not fit in the pre-metal detector baggage "go-nogo box" certain airlines install. Basically for the travel unsavy, that's a simple cage that your carryon baggage should fit in. It would take a lunch box with ease if slotted in properly, and any normal carryon bags with a little grease, effort, or a hydraulic device tooled to hammer in a downward fashion. And like he siad, mine had the wheels hang up, even though I have flown with it 5 times this year alone. So instead of flying out, I was denied even going past security. Of course I explained I know a little about aircraft interiors and it would fit just super duper, he was less impressed.

Anywho, back home i went, the airlines were safer, and me smarter about jet interiors. Got here the next day, happy and fishing, drinking, and good to know someone who did not parttake in a 401K plan was happy to go to work past 80 years old in national defence and learn me on jets.

Quite refreshing actually after I cooled off and nearly blew out a veign in my forehead.
