Funny you should mention screeners in the airport.
Talk about a flying adventure to get to my brothers yesterday. After a mechanical cancelled my 1st flight, I waited 3 more hours for another flight. Fortunately it had seats available, unfortunately a 90+ year old "screener" deemed my carryon baggage unfit for overhead bin storage when i tried to use this alternate flight.
With a keen eye he knew it would not fit in the pre-metal detector baggage "go-nogo box" certain airlines install. Basically for the travel unsavy, that's a simple cage that your carryon baggage should fit in. It would take a lunch box with ease if slotted in properly, and any normal carryon bags with a little grease, effort, or a hydraulic device tooled to hammer in a downward fashion. And like he siad, mine had the wheels hang up, even though I have flown with it 5 times this year alone. So instead of flying out, I was denied even going past security. Of course I explained I know a little about aircraft interiors and it would fit just super duper, he was less impressed.
Anywho, back home i went, the airlines were safer, and me smarter about jet interiors. Got here the next day, happy and fishing, drinking, and good to know someone who did not parttake in a 401K plan was happy to go to work past 80 years old in national defence and learn me on jets.
Quite refreshing actually after I cooled off and nearly blew out a veign in my forehead.
