OLD CPID's never get cleaned up
« on: June 30, 2002, 09:30:33 AM »
I know, because theres one Ive always used, and its taken since beta 1....and hasnt been used since.  Hell, its probably one I set up.

ANyone know what the timeframe is for HiTech cleansing out these old names.   There has got to be a HUGE number of gr8 names, unused because of some bozo (thats me) trying the free 2 weeks 3 years ago.....:(

On the flip side, I sure dont want to lose a great handle after only a few months because Im unable to play.  And of course there are some that should NEVER be allowed to be taken, like those on eternal patrol , and those that where just so disruptive, that the handle would generate problems (can you say Gunman26  )

Maybe if there was a form that would after 6 month of inactivity or whatever:

That ID has been taken but is inactive, would you like to petition for the ID to be released.

Then HiTech send out a message to the email on file, and if no objection is recieved, ya gets it!

Dont ya just love Sunday morning ramblings

In that case, all you need to do is email HTC and ask if you can have it back!  I have known quite a few people do this in the past, and they usually get a response extremely quicky - have you tried emailing HTC yet?  Even if it wasn't yours, if it is obvious from scores that the GAMEID has not been used for some time, I think they will still release it - all you have to do is ask!  :)
