I wonder if tracers will be put on the new particle system? I think that would look quite awesome.

Very simple, really. The old (still existing) system is a piece of bread. The new system is one black-roll sushi that has disintegrated . Each grain of rice is a smoke particle, instead of all of the smoke being one piece of bread. :)

biggles analogy is good except he forgot one thing, the particle has to be something so here goes:

what we have now is bread.

particle system is sushi with lots of grains of rice,

and each bit of rice is in fact a piece of bread

understand?

I know how it work you'll all see when it happens LOL :D

Here is an example: http://romka.demonews.com/opengl/demos/zip/particles.zip

As you can see each 'particle' is a rendered object with its own properties. The program was written in OpenGL. Too bad AH uses Direct3D.

So, my bullets are the soy sauce. Are you saying it will be possible for me to shoot an individual grain of rice with a .303 round, since it has its own properties? Cool! It's all coming clear now. :)

Your never gonna get a tiffie high enough to make the particles burn up on re-entry to the earth's atmosphere.  Yet another job the N1K excels in:D
