I fear this is all my fault. You see, in Invasion Sicily, I was in command of one of the Allied flights. Someone thought it would be a good idea to give me the FDB and Assassins in the same squad. When I got the list I was immediately scared. I figured that with the FDB tendency to shoot each other for the joy of it, the fact that Assassins and FDB are near mortal enemies, plus the fact I have several friendly kills myself, the 27th Fighter Squadron would last a whole of 5 minutes into the frames before we shot each other down. However, I was pleasantly surprised that we did a decent job. In fact, Assassins and FDB worked very well together. I'd like to say it was my leadership or the massive bribes in beer and wings to Fatty to behave himself, but the fact is, these guys are just meant for each other! It defies all rational explanation how these two dynamically different squads can coexist (or in the FDB's case, how they even exist in AH given the beer, wings, and groupies) and even work well together. Fellow Knitz and evil Rooks; be afraid. be very afraid...
