Reliable USB board?

I have an MSI MB with a VIA chipset, which seems to have an unreliable USB interface.  I've tried the VIA patch, but it didn't help.  My CH USB F-16 Combatstick locks up every hour or so of AH.  (The USB throttle and pedals continue to work, but CH insists it's the VIA USB port.)  The only way to get it working again is to reboot.

I think my only solution is to add a PCI USB board, and forget the integrated VIA USB ports.  Anyone recommend a reliable USB board?

I had the same problem when I was running Win 98SE.  No problems so far under XP.  In any case, about a year ago, I got a Belkin 4-port board, which has worked flawlessly.  There are now USB 2.0 boards, but I don't think many peripherals require 2.0 yet.  

There is a very good website that you should check out: http://www.usbman.com.  That is the web site that recommended my board.  It has very thorough guides and tutorials, many of which are directed to your precise problem.  I just checked the site, and he has a link--
