Hey, as a representative of the British people, we've already disowned FDSS here.

Whoever it is (I didn't read the other thread), is pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

I hope it isn't a long time member.

Go back to your RPG or your quake or your UO or where ever you came from you jerk!

Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick, cos I used to play Ultima Online.
I used to own a small house near Yew and get attacked by orcs near the orc camp everytime I set foot out of my house. My character was a smithy and used to specialise in shadow armour. Used to make a pretty good living until his wife left him for someone who lived in a castle and owned a tamed dragon. One of the saddest moments, that was. He used to spend all his money on ale at the tavern near the Brit bank and was often seen swaggering around with an unkempt beard. He finally sold the little house in Yew and joined a gang of pirates around the Trinsic area. He got drunk and fell overboard one day (I left UO).

Apache-

I want to publicly state I no longer believe we have the same "friend" of e-mail. Mine hit another e-mail addy, one I don't believe I have ever used here. That doesn't mean it's impossible, of course, but not likely. Guess I'd rather have the porn anyway, least I can simply dump that without opening it. <Insert SOB shriek here>.

Well Apache, I work in tech support for a local isp.  And I imagine that if you had the information to lodge a criminal offence against someone you would have, if indeed it is a criminal offence in your country.  I'm guessing that you do not have any proof of any wrong doing.  I know ALL about poplock as alot of our clients are put into this situation.  Simple matter of wait for the lock to clr (about 30 mins) and removing the offending e-mail...at least that's how we deal with it   :D ).

Thrawn-

If you read Apache's post you will see where he states it will take a lot of work to nail it all down. He didn't say he had enough to press charges, he implied he could get enough, but it would take a lot of work.

I don't think TheShittingSwan is guilty of email spam. This BBS is another matter, and he'd be found innocent because I don't think you can convict UO retards. It's a loophole.

I read it his post and I interpreted it this way.  He didn't have enough evidence, or maybe any, so he would throw out a lure and see what he he would catch.

Appears ol' FlayingDickShittingSwank may have gotten off on the wrong foot with the AH Community.

I had always believed that the ISP could do something legally against mailbox nukers and spammers as it interferes with bandwidth and thier business. Appears I was mis-informed.

In all practicality, no.  Basically all the isp can do is shut off people that use their service as a spamming base.  And the better ones do this.  But some do allow this.  In the US you can complain to the Post Master General in hopes that they will press charges.  In Canada it's the RCMP.  But what if the mail is routed through another country.  It's a difficult process either way and sometimes it's just easier to change your e-mail addy.
