Lead Computing Sight
« on: July 04, 2002, 09:07:53 AM »
As mentioned previously,  I am teaching my son to fly AH.  We have gotten the rocket/bomb sights to work, but are unable to
see the A/A LCOS.  Has anyone been able to get it to work?

Thanks,

Texman

well, if you got the rocket/bomb sight working, the lead computing
sight setting is at the same place, so make sure that one is checked...

then you pick your target using the TAB key (unless you've remapped
your keys). If you're firing at friendly targets, make sure you have
Friendly Targeting on by pressing Ctrl-TAB...

OK, How 'bout a favor?  Where the hell is this feature found.  I read about it in the readme.txt but haven't found a single bit of a hint of where it is.  Hopefully right under my nose but I'm old and nearly blind.
Thanks
Beeg

PS I mean "spell it out" where is it exactly?

beeger, go to setup, arena settings, flightmodeflags, then change.  you'll see the option there for lead computing sight and dive bomb sight.  dive bomb sight works when bombs are selected: a continuously calculated impact point green cross is drawn on the ground.  the lead gunsight is also a cross in front of your target plane, which you select the same way you select a target plane for padlock mode (be sure to enable friendly targeting if using this offline against friendly drones).

Oh yeah, you have to be offline to do this, or in the TA.

FYI,

Some time ago Pyro said he doesn't like a LCOS in a game and that there wouldn't be one for MA play. Unless he and HT change their minds about it don't look for it.  If you want one, perhaps it should be promoted on the basis of a poll and have the player base indicate the desire for one. I have found HTC to be WONDERFULLY receptive to player requests when there was sufficient interest in options and aircraft to add.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
