Bombsite problems..help?
« on: July 05, 2002, 11:35:43 AM »
I go through the calibration process by the numbers like kweassa laid out so clearly. I get the green menu indicating everything is ok. I only have one problem. After my bombsite is calibrated. It switches to an east/west alignment not a north/south. With that alignment it looks as if you are flying sideways and very difficult to see the target and make the small course corrections needed.

Does anyone else have that problem, and if you did how did you correct it?

Never had that problem after calibrating, but I think that is another good reason for marking the point below your current position rather than the target near the horizon.  This way, the bombsight will get a good look at your direction of travel as well as speed, as the distance covered during the marking will be greater.  Looking at a point in the distance, it may not be too obvious which way you are going, hence an east/west alignment may result.

I think it's a known bug Zakar. There isn't much we can do right now. In my case, I try to do it over and over until the alignment becomes good.
