The clipboard is the neatest piece of software in Aces High ... I'm sure Hitech will figure out a way so we can readily view the arena.

How about a simple colour coded clipboard option that just shows the terrain you hold (green), the terrain the bad guys hold (red), and replace the red sector counter radars with a different overlay for that grid...black or yellow or any colour. Idea being that when switching to that mode all bases are disabled, altes, etc. All you see is colour coding that outlines who holds what territory, and where the action is via the sector counters.

One possible solution for these bigger maps.

Ditto! Love the terrain and fights are easy to find as well (just open your eyes! ;) )

As for "Finding it hard to get the big picture" I think it comes down to your country calling out whats going on and where more important then ever before. Increasing the Map SA for everyone.

Radar and flashing icons only show so much. Nothing beats detailed reports.
