Two movies from the list I'd be curios as to what people think about:

Orange County
A Beautifull Mind

Orange County: I actually thought this was pretty decent, though a bit slow. The local reviewer (The Oregonian) really slammed this movie so I didn't see it in the theatres. I give it a 7 on my 1-10 scale.

A Beautifull Mind: They misnamed this movie. They misrepresented it IMO. I'm glad that was the case because the wife wanted to get it and forced me to watch it with her. It was quite good... and increadibly misnamed. Russell Crow deserved a nomination for his performance in that one.

I actually really liked Orange County. Jack Black's character was hilarious.

And finally you did justice to Sci-Fi and got 2001.

You actually bought "Joe vs The Volcano"? Other than a study of -Tom Hanks' career, the film isn't very note-worthy.

A better movie would've been the B-movie classic "Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity" (which is quite good for a film with such a terrible name - a remake of "The Most Dangerous Game" but with space ships and jungle planets and good-lookin' women in chamois leather bikinis) or even "Tremors" with Kevin Bacon (about a southwestern town on the edge of the desert that's attacked by underground worms with an attitude). Or "Enemy Mine" with Dennis Quaid. Or "Death Race 2000" with the dude from "Kung Fu".

My 17-year-old son tried to get me to go see Orange County with him in the theater. I didn't go, but I wish I had. I had It pegged as just another teenage 'my life sux, but I found a cute girl and my friends stood by me so now I'm ok' movie.

I finally rented it last weekend at laughed my bellybutton off.

Jack Black was hilarious and the rest where excellent too.

I loved the scene when Jack is filling out the peer recommendation form for his brother to get into Stanford, and asks him "how do you spell annihilator?"

Btw if you have or rent the dvd don’t miss the trailers( there’s about 15 of them)

I really like portions of this movie. Virtually any scene that involved the corperation had me rolling... especially his boss's conversations on the phone. I still use the "brain clowd" explanation on especially slow mornings.

I haven't seen Tremors or Enemy Mine at any of the local stores... both those are ones I'll eventually get. I was never a big fan of Death Race 2000... and doubt Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity would go over well with the wife.

A neat movie to get would be Local Hero??

I'm not sure of the title, but Burt Lancaster was in it...it's about this Oil exec who has to go to this Irish (could be Scottish) town, to basically buy the town so they can put a refinary there.

It's hilarious....one scene, the American Oil Exec is driving to the town with the local oil rep and the hit a rabbit. The American saves the rabbit and brings it to the hotel he's staying at.

The next night he and the guests are eating dinner and he says the food tastes great, what is it? The response, oh your rabbit....hehe.

Anyway...a great flick, very quirky, but a very funny.
