Oil leaking & front view Question
« on: January 29, 2000, 10:10:00 AM »
hi there AH pilots,

saw an ww2 movie lately, during a high alt battle over France
a 109 was hit badly, result was alot Oil leaking, so much that the
whole front window from the cockpit got totaly black in a few seconds !
The Pilot didnt see anythng beside left & right view. Now my question,
does this happened sometimes in real during ww2 ? if yes, this would
be kewl to see in AH too. No more easy ditches, better bail out

Pyro, When ya get to it can you add the blood splaters from the dumb sheep that are on the runway, and the splaters from shooting pilots in chutes

Would be neat also if engines would last for while before cutting off..
Currently those engines cuts off with oil leak within 1 minute or so, very shortly.

Most often pilots with oil spattered windscreens only needed to do a quick dive to shed the oil off. This of course did not work all the time and doesn't mount to a hill of beans if the oil is continuous or your engine is fied. Your going to have to bail either way then
 But I'm all for it!

I have to second that, too many times I have to disengage in a glider. Atleast give some time for seperation, hurts especially in major furballs. Just my $.02
