Question about number of countries
« on: July 06, 2002, 07:20:24 PM »
I don't want to start a flame or open old wounds, but I would like to understand why there are 3 countries. I've heard that this somehow stops one country ganging up on another, but that doesn't quite convice me. Can anyone explain the reasoning behind 3 countries as opposed to 2?

Thanks

In a two country system there will ALWAYS be one side stronger than another.  You can never have them equal.

In a three country system you are always outnumbered, because there are more enemys than friends.

Or so the theory goes.  I personally would like a two country system with perk planes used to balance the sides if one becomes outnumbered.  I think it would be a great equalizer to have 100 vs 200 if the 100 were all in Me262s.

i had the reasoning explained to me once. apperently on paper mathmaticaly you get a much more even battle with 3 sides on average.

human nature pretty much screws that in my opinion and observation people just join the winning team till its lopsided. one way or the other 2 sided battle is quite unlikely here from what i have read. why i still dont know.

I'd like to see two countries so we can have more historical maps in the arena.

I think I understand it now. With 3 countries, there are always more enemies than friends in the arena whatever team you're on, so its equitable.

Thanks
