this is so cool. I've read the whole thread and now seeing this elaborated sophisticated well thought post is the best and shows ur deep knowledge not only of AH but also of the universe.

Yeah the map is kinda funky, so thats not a bad thing. The maps even got fun places to fight over like the neopolitan plains, and choco-mountian, and even mold flats. Looks a bit like mars, afriad some sectoid from x-com is gonna jump out and nail  my 109 with his plasma rifle. Only big problem is everything is too spread out. I flew for 2 1/2 hours yesterday morning, we got about 8 bases and I only saw 1 con, only 1! One poor 110 came in as we were about to get the eighth base, I swear if my squad leader didnt blow him up I was gonna killsteal that guy! But he was gone before I got there:(

Map needs more targets, I hope that guy dont quit:p

I have no problem with the size of the map. My complaint is the texture of the majority of the terrain. That leopard skin look..or pizza as some call it. I like seeing the spots of pure sand...they look nice, but the other is hideous. Not sure about the water though..I wasnt in the other map long enough to compare.

What upsets me about this is the brigade who say, 'Just because I don't like it everyone else can't have it'  Well I for one love the new terrain.  I can go out and find proper 1v1s  with the worry of being ganged by a zillion spits. If i want to furball, its there, if i want smaller scale fites they're there too.  Just look around a bit find the type of fite you want and dive in.

and thanks to AK's for  building this you guys did a great job.  Let the begrudgers be damned.  Might be an idea for HTC to post one of their polls and lets see just how many people dislike the terrain?  A minority I suspect.  Might also be an idea for those of you who actually appreciate the hard work that went into this to say so.

Just highlite a squaddie on the clipboard roster, then hit the GO TO button, Poof, your at the field they last launched from.

Standard practice in our squad to say the field we launched from and the field we're going to when asked. Then it's just .move ###

Been doing it this way long before 1.10.

Over 99% of the fields are numbered left to right, top to bottom by rows. If you can find a field close to the number you're looking for then just scan left or right to find a higher or lower numbered field. If you're having trouble reading the field numbers then make the clipboard larger by clicking the +- at lower right.

Hehe, no doubt you're right Gremlin, but I'm sitting here waiting for a vendor to call me back and my belly button is already defluffed.  BTW, did you really count my keystrokes?

Hehe, its an option pack I have installed that lets me do a quick word/char count by right clicking on selected text:)
