Its been awhile since I played with screenshots and need to know which program to use to convert the bitmaps into something I can view in photoshop or convert to jpegs.  I havent messed with this stuff since may of '99, eeeeeeek.

Use Photoshop itself to view the bitmap as it is. Then you can do a 'save' or 'save as...' and you can choose to save it (or a copy of the bitmap) as a jpg or even gif if you would like. Photoshop is a very nice program.

Dnil, email me at weissdr1@yahoo.com. I'll tell you what you can do to save bmps as gifs. gifs are much better than jpgs and smaller in size. They look a little nicer while not getting that water color splash look on them like jpgs.

Westy, Photoshop can't load the AH .BMP's
i still dont know why, but the easy way to
convert them is with ACDSEE. Its a Picture viewer (the best IMHO). With ACDSEE u can convert
a whole Directory of Pics into another format, just with a mouseclick.
Check it out here: http://www.acdsystems.com/

FYI there is another free Graphics program that does a really nice job with everything from .bmp's to .jpgs. Opens virtually every known graphics file known to man, & will save as most includeing .ico (icon's)

This is freeware, does not install, just unpacks to a directory. Is Incredibly powerfull, yet very tightly written.

You can find it at

Check these out:
ASSASSINS Wallpaper & Screenshots

I took them using an external Screen Capture program called HyperSnap Pro.

There is a link to HyperSnap on the webpage.

You can save screenshots in whatever format ya want, although I used jpgs. This will save ya from having to convert them from BMPs to something else.

The nice thing about HS Pro is that it is one of the VERY FEW programs available that can capture DirectX/Glide or DVD.

HyperSnap appears cleaner, crisper than the AH screenshot BMPs  IMO
