Views are al over the place??
« on: July 09, 2002, 10:00:32 AM »
The new film editor seems to save all of the view info from a sortie ie. if I looked right 1 minute into the sortie it does the same thing on the film. This is annoying when I am trying to watch a film from the external view and every time I set up the view to my liking it takes off on its own trying to mimic the view input during the sortie. Is this user error? Do I need to have a certain combination of view buttons selected?? Or is this just the new way that the film editor works??

Hello,

That's all good and well if you're using the new fancy viewer.

What about the original viewer?

One feature I like on the old view is the ability to slow down the replay.  However the constant view changes recorded in the heat of battle make this difficult.

Any plans to either add the ability to slow down the new viewer or add the option to ignore view changes in the old viewer?

I prefer viewing films the old way as well, although the new Film Viewer provides a lot of valuable info.  Perhaps if the checkbox was to opt IN to use the in-flight views rather than opt out, so it's not on by default.

Reviewing a sortie with recorded views off allows you to see things you missed at the time of the flight - like "where the hell did THAT $#%@!&# come from?!"

Of course, the Film Viewer will be supremely useful when the editing function is fixed.

IMO there is an important feature missing from the film editor.  There is a function to  have "capture" view, voice, and text.  But you only have "remove" functions voice and text.  There's no "remove view."

Trying to "capture view" and not inputting any views does not in fact, remove the views like you would expect.  There needs to be a "remove view" option.

Or alternately, an "ignore recorded views" option for the full screen film viewer that is built into the game.

Please consider this feature request for 1.11 HTC. :)

Simple, look at the clipboard when you first launch AH, click on the "Film" tab, and welcome back to the "old way". :D
