Bomber formation count as 3 sorites?

Looking at my own stats, I have been unable to answer this question.

I know that if I take up a bomber formation and one or more bombers get destroyed, each counts as a death for me.  But if I take up a bomber formation, does it count as 3 sorties?

Each plane is suppose to count as 1 sortie

Thanks, HT.  Now for my next question. :D

I have landed a formation of bombers 4 times in the MA, 3 of these times the drone bombers landed ahead of me, but did not stop on the runway (but I did).  Does this mean that I get 1 landing and 2 ditches?  I tried to taxi around and get them on the runway but couldn't.
