I had the best night since the inception of this map yesterday. With steadfast determination, you guys fought for several hours to take V214. You really kept me on my toes defending it, and at one point I had to call for Dayo, a squaddie, to come and help.
It began with me taking some pot shots at Hooker as he approached V214 in his PNZR. He is quite a marksman with the PNZR, and destroyed our field guns

I tried to get another PNZR from the hangar, but hooker had his turret trained on the spawn point, and I couldn’t even move without being kaboomed. He could kill me, but there were no troops to capture the field, so I decided to spawn an M3 near V214 with vehicle supplies, and re-supply V214. On the way there, I saw a truck convoy inbound, and realising it would get there ahead of me I dumped the M3 and manned the field gun, once re-supply had taken place. The fun was about to begin!
Not sure how we got rid of hooker, but I kept scanning the horizon. Some of you did pop up, and anyone who did got the field gun treatment. I killed Ostwinds, PNZRs, M3s – but after every kill I could hear the rumble of GV engines which told me that the fat lady had not yet begun to sing. Now things really started heating up. You sent in a variety of aircraft! First there were the two P47s. One of them got the VH (not needed for capture) but was shot by Dayo in an M16. The second one made a run at the VH from a bad angle, and I cut him in half. His first bomb had failed to explode owing to having been dropped to low. Next aircraft was a 110. Came in high and straight. He made a shallow dive and I shot his wing off. The came a MOSS! Now
he was interesting. Dayo managed to damage him, but he was lagging. The MOSS exploded, but a couple of seconds later Dayo exploded too

I was alone again

There I was, scanning the horizon, when I looked back to see ten red parachutes!!! Eek, how did they get here? Sure enough, there was a C47, but it was warping all over, and had made no engine sound on the way in. (Sneak glide approach? Surely not...) I shot about six of the troops, and the others mysteriously died of their own accord

The Goon came around, and at 1000 yards, I put an end to his warpiness

A couple more M3s tried to sneak in during the mêlée, but 2-3 rounds of the field gun was all they could withstand.
It was already 2am here, and I wanted to go to bed! But you knits sent a P51, and he was a skilful jabo pilot with warps on his side. It was one of those situations in which he dropped his bombs, but I was vaped back to the tower when he was still more than 500 yards out. I think this is caused by lag, and I see it a lot when manning the field guns. His FE probably showed him having dropped the bombs and zooming away. My FE might have been a second or two behind, but when his hits are reported to the server, I am gone whatever is showing on my FE. Or something like that. I’ve even known that when a plane makes a horizontal attack – he gets to 800 yards when poof – my gun sortie is over

From the tower I watched in amazement as about
five of you guys rolled into town in a variety of GVs – Two M3s, a PNZR, an M8, an Ostwind – in addition to the pilots in the air! I had no idea there were so many of you. Just as well you did, because I really needed to call it a night. And what a night! I got discoed once and it took me more than 5 minutes to relog, but managed to keep hanging on.
Let’s try it again sometime soon

;)
