My Comerade's Wish List: Perk Tanks
« on: July 10, 2002, 03:36:13 PM »
Dear HiTech Creations,
The players in Aces High have come up with an absolutely wonderful idea...Perk Tank.  Some want something very fast, others want superior armor, or even just a REALLY BIG MOBILE GUN.  Take for example the M40 and M43 Two Wonderfully big mobile guns introduced near the end of WWII.  one is 155mm, the other is an 8" gun.  It would be nice to kick the crap out of a base just like with a carrier, except on the ground.  A vehicle like this could go for around 70 perks or so.  Please take this into consideration HTC as it is an extremely pleasing idea to me and my fellow countrymen.

Perk gvs are definitely needed.  I suggest introducing a number of these including:

1.  The version of the Sherman which carried a number of rockets in a launcher over the turrent (of course the basic Sherman should be available also as a non-perk ride);

2.   The Soviet JSII tank.  Unless I'm mistaken, this monster tank saw action in the waning months of WWII.

3.   The Soviet JSU-152.  Having a 152mm self-propelled gun to wreak Havoc on opposing forces would be fun!:D

4.    Of course, the German Royal Tiger tank needs to be in the game, perhaps as a non-perk vehicle.

More gvs are definitely needed in the next AH release.  Some of these need to be perked, otherwise what use are the vehicle perk points????????????

I think it would be be neat to have the Soviet Katyusha rocket launchers.
Find a group of Osties defending a base, cut loose with the rockets and blanket the area with them.
Soviets used them with great effect during WW2, would add another dimension to the GV/ground assault side of AH.

we already have German and American gvs,

How about some Russian and British tanks?

I want a Churchill, can't remember if it was a MK IV or MK VI
but not perk, it only goes about 20 mph

Hmm, what could be a decent perk Brit GV?

A decent British perk GV? hmmm, was it called Comet? A big mean tank it was.
The King Tiger would be a choice too.
All the warring nations also had a selection of either rocket launchers or self propelled artillery.
Maybe HTC should focus on some of these things next?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Any perk tank we get the ostwind will murder, while 88mm or 100mm or worse will just bounce off its cute little turret. While ostie sprays, sprays, and sprays

for the past 3 versions, the development of AH has been mainly forcussed on one thing at a time

8 was strat
9 was early BoB planes
10 was bombers/early war pacific

11 should be about gvs

remember, the larger audiance a game brings in, the more cash it brings in at the same time, and thats always a good thing:D

yeah, comet would be nice, fast, decent armour, was the gun a 75mm?

Before they add more GVs, I think a better focus should be on fixing the damage model for GVs in general, so you don't get ass-backward results, like a PzKpfw IVH bouncing 75mm AP off the side armor of an M3 while the M3's .50 is punching holes in the tank's front armor.

Churchill Crocodile.  Burn down entire town with one burst. Or better yet, toast all 10 drunks as they head for the map room.
