If you have a soldering iron and some shrink tube, you can repair it for free.
From my own experience, and from what I've read on the board about these units, the break is going to be at teh pinch point for the left toe break.
All you need to do is pop the sides apart, and look for the broken wire. Solder it back together and put some tape or shrink tube on it and you'll be set. You might want to put some tape on the other wires too, just so they wont break.
I found the hardest part of the whole thing was getting it back together.
It does seem to spike just teh smallest amount when moving the rudder, but my throttle does that too, so I think I might just be wearing them out (not to mention throwing them at times, but I wont get into that
).
