We had several pilots with Multiple Assist and or Kills - WTG !

TEXT LAGS were BAD At the start. I was leading and with the horrible 6 view I rarely saw a DAMNED but They keep telling they were behind me so I trusted them !

We ralled at the RP point and our scouts - Silat and Bighog were sent out to find the IJN CV's. Well they FOUND a bunch of ZEKES every where ! With good team work they keep each others backs clear and proceded to continue scouting and trying to stay alive !

After a while out BEST guess was that the IJN Carrier was at xx,yy sector so we were vectored in that general direction while the bombers tried to stay hidden yet head toward the possible location.

There must have been a lost Bomber group because we found them EAST of us and under attack. WE sent some DAMNED to help out and the rest of us headed to xx,yy,5 to RV with anoither Bomber group.

All I saw most of the nights were DOTS and no enemy.

We meet up with the Bombers that were still alive and headed to the possible loc of the CV's.

Here things got fuzzy - the Bombers attacked what they THOUGHT was a CV fleet but I think it was JUST a DE/CA group ?

I spotted a Fleet EAST of that and was about to verify it when the game froze up ! Argggghhhhh

I tried to get back in but was still having problems so I had to call it for hte night.

THANKS to all who attended. It did bring back thefeeling of - WHERE ARE the carriers and will we find them in time.

Thanks for hte help and suggestions - we all make a GREAT TEAM !

Subject: [Damned] You guys missed all the fun last night!

The last hour of the TOD Silat and I are the only ones left up. Continueing in our our armed reconnaisance mission we re-locate and keep an eye on the Japanese CV's. What few of our SBD's still around --one of which had Seagoon as gunner-- struck and sent one CV to the bottom! WTFG! A couple of hapless zekes with tunnel vision run for the SBD's on their egress, but Silat and I pounce from on high. The trailer never saw me comin and his wing inexplicably came off. Silat was on the leader who broke then saw my  beautiful rudder and just couldn't resist! He simply HAD to have it and while he was staring Silat took HIS wing off. Badaboom badabing!

The SBD's, now low, are out south as are we and they get harassed by another Zeke. He had good game but in the end good winging won the day. I splattered him good in the end. Whew! So we're out south--again, after saving the day--again.

On the way, bubi109 calls frantically for help. He's got 3 Vals attacking him on the deck. They're conveniently on our low 10 o'clock. I had heard Ghstdncr call a "knock it off" but these guys were pressin their attack--so---they had to pay for that right? We're in hot.  One Val falls on our first pass. Another soon after--but they get the Dauntless! Damn! Then I splash the 3rd one JUST as ghstdncr calls a final "knock it off "and "I'm marking the time now". hehe--was *RIGHT* under the wire! So Silat and I are on the way to the bar with a bag full of scalps! : )

Well, we're not gonna make it back as we have about 4 sectors to cover and only about 15 minutes. They call endframe at this time and we auger. Getting back to the CV we find Ghstdncr in the tower who tells us that the Vals complained about *US* killing them after endframe! Can you imagine? They're on a guy 3 on 1 and that's cool--right up until they got killed for it LOL! Weasels are in every corner of life it seems and this is no different. Ghstdncr ruled they lose their SBD kill but our kills on them are disallowed as well. Oh well. At least we know we kicked their asses!

<> Silat for some great winging! Was a great run!

After checking my film, looks like I got 4 kills on Zeros and 1 damage.  First kill was after Seagoon and I went to help the SBD's that were being hit,  fight started at 22k and then went to the deck.  Second fight we were otw back toward the main group and ran into Zero's attacking Bloodnut and others, worked that group then started back to the main group again but ran into a beehive of Zeros.  Had to disengage after running out of ammo.

RTB'd to CV and landed.

Thanks to the DAMNED for letting me be a guest in their squad.

I have to say something about this quote:

The three Vals were the survivors of the flight I was in--Frodo, Killjoy, and chetFT.  I was on vox and radio with them while I was in the tower at CV25, having been killed earlier in the frame.

As soon as GhstDncr called frame end, all three of those guys said they were disengaging.  Apparently when those two F4Fs dove in, the SBD turned back and joined in the fun as well.  The Vals were trying to disengage but the Allies wouldn't let them despite repeated calls from GhstDncr to back off.  That's what I heard on vox and saw in the buffer anyway.  I wasn't out there.

It's a minor thing, and not that big a deal really.  I just don't appreciate two of my fellow Flying Pigs and Chet from the Original FTs being called "weasels" when they were actually trying to do what the CM told them to.

to both sides for a great run despite the arena problems at the beginning.  (SEA don't like it when you try and launch 40-50 planes off the same CV at the same time.) :)

NIfty and I are looking into this.

It looks simply like we had an engagement take place right at the wire and simply could not disengage in time. Vals could have broken off after doing their best to kill the SBD just as F4Fs arrived to help. It happens both sides busy trying to survive and not watching text buffer. Adrenalin going.

No idea who really started it just that both sides were actively engaged and had a hard time disengaging.

  • chetFT killed bubbi109 at 23:43
  • silat killed killjoy at 23:43
  • drano killed chetFT at 23:44

Basically the whole engagement between the SBD and 3 Vals and then 2 F4Fs took place after the call to break off was given by me. But before Nifty said anyone still fighting would be penalized.

We talked about it and most likely all 3 kills will not count. Still looking into it. But since I don't have film of it actually starting all I know for sure was that 1 SBD and 1 Val died at roughly the same time 23:43 and then a minute later a second Val died.

Too me it looks like both were actively engaging the other and not just defending themselves against the other.

No big deal guys and nothing to get worked up about.

Well first of all was a fun TOD.Thanks to the TOD staff.

Now as for this drano kid(never heard of him/her?).He/she is lucky he/she had silat with him.:D His/her arm is probably sore from patting himself on the back for killing a val with an f4f. Yea that's a tough one with a 7k alt.advantage.Also only 2 of the vals went down and not 3 as he claims.Maybe he/she was seeing ghost's?Ok enough time spent on this Tard, who is aptly named by the way.

The 3 vals were rtb on the deck for a long time to cv 25.About 2 sectors out we came across a tbm and had a good fight. The call was made to disengage and rtb.We broke off and let the tbm go and he seemed to turn and run also.We probably couldn't have caught him anyway once we broke off.We continued to rtb and as we were getting close to the cv an sbd was coming to us at 12 o'clock on the deck, with 2 dots high above him.As we passed the sbd made a very hard turn to get our 6.If he had continued on his course we could never have caught him.Well chet was forced to break and then killjoy. The vals were forced to turn with him and fight. He could have broke and ran at anytime but didn't.I continued to run for the cv and chet and kj eventually killed him but were jumped by the high dots(f4fs) and killed.KJ was killed on the first pass, but chet was clearly killed after the f4f's were ordered to disengage. They even trailed me for a while after this.

The sbd driver may have not seen the rtb call, and probably didn't expect to meet 3 vals on egress and may have got a little shook. But he initiated the fight from my angle anyway, and the vals surely couldn't run away.

The f4f's I don't know what to think.I know silat to be a great guy and a worthy foe.Probably just wanted to help the sbd and might have missed the call to disengage. Also drano- tard killed chet well after repeated calls for the f4f's to disengage, and like I said trailed me for a while after that.

Also I wonder why planes are allowed to auger with no penalty after a certain time frame.Shouldn't they have to make the long rtb as we did? This gives them the advantage of hanging over the cv and picking off planes that are low on ammo, fuel, damaged ect.
Just my 2 cents here.

Almost forgot...if anyone wants to see the film just let me know.:p

One more thing for drano-tard.Your version is so full of it,it seems like you flat out lied.Isn't the film option a wonderful thing?Cya in the skies ace.

It seems that this is really no issue, The CM will handle it and make a ruling and that will be that.

I have only one question for you Frodo. Why do you feel its necessary to ridicule and use a childish term like "tard" when giving your account of what transpired? It does nothing to enhance your position and in fact makes your account less believable.

Or it could just be a case of a limited vocabulary run amok.

56 fg was awaiting to take off at our assigned post, cv25. The connect wasnt good so we decided to relog while the vals and zekes were rolling.  Was a mistake (I think:)), we were never able to get back into the SEA.

Yea I was a little ticked when I posted, and don't usually reply to things like this. But this one hit a nerve.

But...Joker did you read drano's letter?????Don't expect me to sit by and let something like his attack go unchallenged.Guess I should have used weasel instead of tard??

Enhance my position? My account less believable?HUH?I posted after I reviewed the film, because things get missed in the fog of war.Tell me where to send the film and I will gladly send it to you.Although you seem to have made up your mind already with your superior vocabulary,  and I guess you were there also?

Send the film to me .. dgideon@dgideon.org. I was the setup CM I will review and inform Nifty of what I can put together.

As of right now though basically all 3 kills will probably no count since we believe it all happened after the call to break off. Nifty will decide.

My bad - I should have EDITED out the weasel part - it was sent via our SQUAD Email - and was not originally written for general consumption.

My original post was not meant in anyway to cast doubts on any other participants. I just wanted to share a bit of FLAVOR of the event that the TOD brings out.

Not coppin out to the e-mail thing. You went off about this in public--not me.

My film got sent to GD. A shame I couldn't post it here as it was too big. You say you were trying desperately to disengage? The formation we saw --and duh, the reason we attacked you--was a conga-line-behind-the-SDB, complete with tracers at our low 10 o'clock. I could post a pretty screen shot of that if you'd like--bet you wouldn't. Yeah you were disengaging---NOT! I guess the next thing you're gonna tell us is that the SBD had you guys all cornered with his single .30 cal? LOL You gotta be kiddin me! Just like the TBM "attacked" the three of you too. Yeah, your side is most believeable! I have no motivation to BS anybody. I don't know what your thing is pal.

Be honest. You guys were just looking for another "good fight" as long as it was a 3 on 1 and once you saw your bacon was about to get cooked you did what prolly came natually--you whined about it. And I'm the tard. Yeeehright.

Of course, it was easier for you to read the text buffer as you were runnin like a scared cat at the time. I OTOH was still fighting and the 2nd guy died just as Nifty said any further kills would be penalized--which was my first oppurtunity to look at the buffer. It HAD just come up and my film reflects that. So as I see it, we got in just under the wire anyway. If GD and Nifty don't--its no biggie. They'll do what they think is fair and that's good enough for me.  Its not like we had money on it or anything. Cripes.

Its just a friggin game dude--   get_a_life. Or medication. Whatever works for you.

                 Drano

P.S. By all means please come hunt me in the MA. I see you fly Spits, Zeros and GV's mostly. Well I'm impressed as all get out about that. Don't think just because you never heard of me that I just fell off an ox cart. I been doin this a while and it'd take more than the likes of you to hang a " 'tard kid " tag on me.

2) The Enemies

I went off in public to you?Your remarks are the first post in this thread not mine.

Maybe you should see my film.I will gladly send it to you.I also sent mine in.It doesn't matter to me how it is scored,I was just mad at your remarks. But I was too harsh in my reply maybe?

Post any screen shot you like, but the film will tell the whole story. We came upon the TBM and a fight ensued, but nothing had been called yet.During the fight the RTB call was given and we broke off. This is very clear in my film and I don't know how you would know unless you have seen my film or the TBM's?

As for the sbd we passed close to headon and he had the e to just keep right on going and we could never have run him down even if we had wanted. But he pulled the hardest turn he could onto our 6.I think maybe you should recheck the armament on the sbd and then compare it to the vals.

Honestly we were trying to rtb as we had been doing the past 20 minutes. And you won't find very many if any whining from us in the game or on the bbs.If you can then please show me.

The first call to rtb was made long before our fight. We were engaged with the tbm at the time and we broke off.I guess you missed this one too.You say your film reflects that you got under the wire? Then please send it to me as I would like to see it.And again I offer my film for you to look at.

No I won't undertake a dweeb hunt of you as I am too scared and would prove nothing.Hmmm I fly only spits, zeros, and gvs?Maybe you should go to the score pages and have a look before you make statements like this. It's real easy to do.

Your post is so full of holes I must now dub thee "swiss cheese boy".:p
