Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Thanks Rev-

I'm surprised it came out as solid as it did. As I was going through the process, I kept thinking, "How the hell is this thing going to connect to this piece here..."

But was all was said and done, it came together.

I tested it out last night, and it really, REALLY adds to the immersion, and is very comfortable when flying.

I highly recommend this set up for any serious flight simmer.

(BTW, decals are a piece of cake. I just went to some websights, cut and pasted the ones I wanted, and printed them on photo quality paper, and used a spray adhesive to stick them on. Looks just like a paintjob!)

And yes...MY WIFE HATES IT!!!!

Speaking of beer holder and mouse pad, can someone post the pics of their seat again? Mine is about ready for sanding and painting, but I want another look at those items. Can't remember the link or who posted them, so I can't search myself...

Thanks!

Says 'NO STEP"...

You pole-vault to get inta that thing?

;)

Looks great. Add a coin slot and haul it down to the supermarket, you'll make a fortune.

Is that just plywood? Where did you get the cut diagram? Did you have to own cutting tools I presume? I would LOVE to get one of those bad boys made, but have no idea hwo to go about doing it...

My father-in-law is a carpenter, and has a workshop full of every tool I could ever want. I did most of the cutting I needed with a bandsaw and circular saw, but there were places where a jigsaw was handy. You could do it with hand saws, but it would take longer. I am at the stage where I am adding modifications and such, and preparing to sand, fill, and sand again.

Yes, it is plywood. Make sure you get AC quality, so that the surface is already sanded and nearly finished. This is more expensive but will save you time. I bought 9/16s and have done just fine. I probably have about 12 hours in it between drawing out the parts and cutting them.
