Mouse getting "laggy" after connecting online or offline
« on: July 15, 2002, 09:52:07 AM »
Does anyone else get similar problems? It only began recently (but I also upgraded from w98 to w2k).

Mouse seems ok in the first clipboard, but as soon as I click either online or offline, the mouse is wobbling and lazy and need much more precission to point it anywhere. Same happens both in 1024x768 and in 1280x1024 modes.

W2k, P4 1.6, 768ram, radeon8500dv

Yes I formatted and made a clean install of w2k :)
Many drivers are new because of the change from w98 to w2k.

I cannot tell for sure when I noticed the change in mouse behaviour though :( and still it work perfectly ok in other programs. Only in AH it acts funny, and not even in the first clipboard in AH.

1.10 happened to come at the same time.... maybe I should try the 1.09 just to see how the mouse is with it....

Have the same problem. I use a logitech mouse with the logitech drivers installed and mouse accelerated.  Works very well on desktop and other games but upon entering AH the mouse seems lazy not precise anymore. I thought this was a normal and have been living with.. hope theirs a fix - would make the game alot easier..

Finally found a solution :)

In ATI D3D settings the Anti-aliasing (Smoothvision) is the key. I set it on "performance" and set the "samples" at 3x or 4x... so that it showed high enough resolution.

Now the mouse moves like earlier, without any lag.

I also switched back feom Plutonium drivers to the latest official and supported drivers.

I sometimes get the laggy mouse and use it as an indication that my memory is getting low and it's time for a reboot. After a reboot it works fine again.
