A house on the river...
« on: July 15, 2002, 04:54:45 PM »
On hot afternoons, my wife and I will go to a bar right on the river and have some Margaritas.  The view is beautiful from there deck and spawned the following statement from the wife:

Wife: "I'd love to have a house on the river."

For those that think in terms of "personnas" or "acts" when it comes to the BBS... I don't really play that.  My reply:

Me: "I don't think you'd like it much."
Wife: "Why?"
Me: "Because it'd have a deck.  And I'd be on that deck with a telephoto lense and a sign saying show me your tits.  I'd then have a wall with all the pics of girls that did and I'd show it off to my friends."

I then explained to her the lure of young ladies baring all in boats and pretty much ensured that I'd never have to worry about either a boat or a house on the river ever again.

Living on a boat would practically guarentee that within 2 years you would be buying a house.  If you sold one to live on the boat....you would be buying another.  If you rented prior to owning the boat...you'd still be buying a house, because you crossed the ownership threashold that most women will never agree to retreat from.

My suspicion is that it would have little to do with a deck and pictures of chicks though....and much more to do with lack of a "real" kitchen and a "real" bathroom.  The novelty of living on a boat wears off  much faster for women than men and these luxuries on land become vitally important right around the two year mark.

In any event, you managed to succeed in averting a tempting disaster...I you.
