Longer Night,More Wheather, yes please...

Night looks great on my system, the best part of night is the Dark perioud, how about making it last 10 minutes longer(at the darkest point).

 Also Could the frequency of the storm fronts could be picked up a bit. I rember quiet some time ago when on lake uterious a storm front went over the high base in the North and the clouds were like patches of fog near the ground it was great fun dasing in and out of theam and engaging unsespecting enemy's :)

 In other words more eye candy please...

I have to agree. Night is nice, sure. But there is really no point to it without the nightfighters and the need to use them in the dark.

As far as I'm concerned, night is just eyecandy in the MA that is 'unrealistic' (as if anything were realistic in the MA), 'unnecessary', and 'unfun'.

But I like the weather (except for the frustrating way it changes the icon color that makes it hard to tell friendly and enemy apart).

Change your icon colors. Use brighter colors that stand out more from each other in the night.

SW, I am *constantly* changing my icon colors.

When it's full day, I have friendly white, enemy bright yellow/green.  This provides the only real good icon readability for me.

When the clouds come over, I can't see white, so I darken friendly to blue if I'm over all land, something inbetween if there's too much water around.  Enemy is also hard to see, and I have to play with that color, too.

Around sunrise/sunset, I can't see enemy, so I start playing around with that color.  And the friendly white fades to the same color as the sky, too.

At night, I go back to daytime colors, since I can't see the darker colors I need for dusk.  But since that lasts only an instant, I have to switch back for dawn.  (actually, I've usually logged by this time.)

But the real problem is under cloud cover and sunrise/sunset.  Then, it doesn't show the colors I choose, it fades them in a weird way so they look almost identical, unless I change them to vastly different colors.  In this situation, though, I can almost be assured not to see one or the other against different backgrounds.

Also when cloud cover is over, I can barely see the radar bars with daylight colors, and most other colors.

I have yet to find good colors to use for anything but full daylight with no clouds.

My eyes suck  :(

I love it. I feel quite at home in it.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Night = time for buff.

But when I am not in a mood for buff...

Night = time to log.

Night is a nice eye candy, all those stars and sunsets... But it impact gameplay for fighters terribly. Seems it is the only thing where HTC sucrifised a gameplay issues to eye candy one.

I know why it is. Because HT is very proud of nights he made

Nighttime requires the following changes:
A. a more realistic night view.  Nighttime isn't simply darker than daytime.  Since we should be staring at monitors in a well-lit room, nighttime has to reflect the effects on the eye that darkness causes.  At a minimum that would mean much less color saturation, and a graininess (a sort of sepia-effect).  Right now we've got just a darker terrain.  This is the worst of all cases because some video cards (like my old one) let the user manually adjust (read: boost through the roof) gamma to make the scene appear as light as day, while others (like my current one) won't let you override software settings.  So at nighttime, you have some people with perfect night vision, and others feeling around in the dark, and it's hardware-related.

B. Simulated Night-Flying conditions.  Onboard radar for those equipped (and not the ridiculous AWACS/JSTARS vert. situation display we have now either), lights (on planes, on panels, on runways); you'd also get some flames from the exhaust stacks, depending on A/C type and night concealment systems.

C. Night fighters

D. A reasonable nighttime icon system.  If it's blacker than a bull's tuckus on a moonless texas night, why can I pick up a neon red icon from 6000 feet away?
