AH LAN Party?
« on: July 17, 2002, 02:46:59 PM »
Hi,

I'm going to be going to a LAN party with 3 or 4 other guys this weekend.  Can AH support more than a H2H game over a LAN, and how easy is it to set up and configure?  I've only ever really tried to play it online in the usual manner.

You can use any terrain available in H2H. You can do just about everything in H2H that you can in the Main Arena except with fewer people. What exactly did you have in mind?

Maybe I misunderstood your question, H2H does support more than 2 people, 8 I believe.

I guess my question is how ell it works and wether or not you need people to create accounts and the like.  i have a bunch of good friends that I want to introduce to flight sims, and I figured a good LAN party was the place to try it.  I usually play WBIII but H2H is not included :(

Works great on my lan, no accounts needed. You will need reasonably fast PCs to get a decnt frame rate, joysticks all around too.

AKIron, what do consider a decently fast PC to be?  1.2 Athlon DDR or thereabouts?

A 1.2 Athlon is definitely fast enough to get good frame rates. Video card is a factor too, I have GeForce 2's in my son's and my wife's PCs, one a 32mb gts (1.1GHz Athlon) and the other an mx400 (1700+ Athlon). Both get good frame rates in Aces High.
