Dumps to Desktop solved!
« on: July 12, 2000, 10:55:00 PM »
Eureka!

Success at last. I just finished re-building my system from scratch, and it appears that AH works! No dumps to the desktop, and no bumpy runway!

I don't understand why a perfectly functioning system with all previous versions of AH needed to be re-built to work with 1.03, but that seemed to do the trick nevertheless.

The only thing I haven't installed yet is AKwabbit's sounds, but I don't think that'll be a problem.

Those of you still having similar problems, you may want to do what I did and FDISK and FORMAT. It's a pain in the keester, but it may solve your problem like it solved mine.

Found a much milder solution.

Right click on desktop & go to properties, then settings, advanced & preformance. Back the slider for preformance off 1 notch.

This is a temporary solution and ive not spent a lot of time onlone because of work. But ill try to test it out longer..

So far so good.........

Gosh Wardog!  I had forgotten all about that!  When I first came into AH in V.34, I was getting dumped, when I toggled that back 1 notch and added another 64 megs ram (total now is 128), then no dumps!

Rip, I already posted this on the Technical Support forum and the Bug forum.

I wish I could've found a less invasive fix, too, Wardog. But, alas, I figured that two weeks of wracking my brain and trying different things was enough.
