CH pro pedal problem
« on: July 18, 2002, 07:58:45 AM »
HI all,

I got a strange problem with pedals, need to know if anyone had same problem before, and if yes what is a possible fix.

When I press ruder pedal, ruder react slowly sometime, it can start slow, then jump to right position. If I keep pedals in some fixed position, the ruder can start moving itself, it goes slowly toward center, then after 3-4 seconds jumps back into correct position.

I played with dumping and dead band, no help. Calibrated in CH soft, windows and in AH.

Interesting, that when I leave in alone for some time, this problem is bigger. When I use pedals, after some time they start working ok. It seems as if the "freezed" when I do not use them.

Will apreciate any tips or help,

Fariz

Does this happen in all your flight sims or just AH?   ie:  is it AH or hardware related?

USB?

I used to have strange issues with USB peds and X36 hotas until I started using a powered USB hub. I think it helps the devices get enough juice. Just a guess...

I think it is hardware. It works fine, then make start working terribly. Last time I just shaked pedals, then it became ok. Probably, somewhere something is not screwed in tough, or something contacting. Probably need to open and check all the contacts.

Before you open that up, you may want to go to http://www.chproducts.com - and send em an e-mail about the trouble you are having.

Fariz : My second set did just about what you wrote about . It's hardware IMO . I took them apart and one of the rollers had come out of place and and the axial for it was under the slider and was muching up stuff . Got it sorted out and put it back together and np now . I place a pick of the insides for u .

They are right , it's a chore to get them back together "right" again but it's doable for sure .

Thanks Airspro, all. It is working now, if it will start doing weird things again, I will open and check it.

I had this too, sent the pedals back to CH, and they are still working on fixing it.

Airbull:

I have the pedals apart and find a brown wire not attached to anything. There are three lugs on the micro-switch. The laft has 2 green wires, the right has 2 blue wires, the middle has 1 purple wire. I'm assuming the brown wire should attach to the middle lug with the purple wire - any ideas ???

thanks in advance
