Exploiting a bug, and pissing me off
« on: April 22, 2000, 12:39:00 PM »
Last night HBlair and I are winging from A5 and see two Panzers which we eventually kill, not 5 mins later the same are panzers back, we finally discovered they are spawning from a location where no vehicle field or field of ANY kind is. At approx. 11,9,6 on the map.
Now what pisses me off a bit is that when I asked Jaybird how they were able to do that, no response, when HBlair asked him on private channel how they were able to do it no response. I know they saw our messages cuz I got a "Yes Milenko?" from Jaybird right before I asked him.
If it's a map/vehicle bug fine, I can live with that til it's patched, but to exploit it and then ignore requests to explain how it is occuring is DAMN rude and impolite, only about one step up from cheating.[b/]

I don't have a problem with gaming the game, or exploiting a bug as long as everyone knows they exsist.

If you go to a vehicle field you can hit N, W, S, E. These buttons will place you FAR AWAY from any field. This is probably what you are seeing, it's not a bug or an exploit. It reduces vehicle commute time.

Okay, like I said I can deal with that, but for Jaybird to ignore repeated requests to explain it, leads one to believe it's a bug.

I don't blame Jaybird for not responding, if you don't know about the off-field spawn point it's not his problem.

Tankers have a rough life, driving around sometimes for over an hour looking for a fight, then a cannon armed fighter comes along and zaps em.  It is a frustrating thing to drive around looking for another tank to fight, that's why the spawn points were added.  We need a vehicles only arena so there can be a place for tankers to play and practice.

Thank you. We are all refreshed and challenged by your unique point of view.

I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you.

I see your point, but I still think your full of sh*t.

Thanx for the explanation haha, I knew there were remote spawning points, I didn't know they were that remote though  . I'm gonna have to do some more tanking.

Actually that does look kinda like him.  Wonder why he really picked the callsign glunz in the first place.

In all fairness, I remember seeing your open channel requests RE: spawnpoints, and I think I recall answering them.  of course, my name's dinger, so what do I know?
