6'o clock thread - QUOTES-
« on: November 07, 2001, 05:36:00 PM »
I think it's evident that the big majority of pilots are against big changes in the wiew system. And actually I'm agree with them; as I wrote AH wiew system is good, we don't need big changes. But small ones could improve realism and immersion...
Many people (and many of them are good sticks, it's just by chance???...  ;)) expressed some thoughts about restrictions in the six wiew that I strongly support.

Some quotes:

Maybe leave the dead six view but make it where ya can't go past it without spinning your head the other way.

I'd like to see it be restricted a bit though...being able to turn around 180 and slide all the way up against the instrument panel is a bit much   ;)

Give us the ability to program two 6 views, so we have one 'peering over left shoulder' view, and one 'peering over right shoulder' view.
...
And limit the 6 view within the cockpit/human anatomy boundary..
 ...
This should be a better compromise than totally getting rid of 6 view altogether.

I do have to admire your perserverance LUPO   :) <S>!   I hope HiTech or Pyro will comment someday (soon?   :) ) on what, if anything, they have planned to tweak or improve upon thier already outstanding view system.

People fix things for two reasons.

When something is broke, and when something can get BETTER.

Fixing broken things makes a better today. Fixing OK things to make it better makes a better TOMORRW.

Hehe, LUPO  ;) Anyway, from what I've been told its not so easy to modify a "3D moveable view system" and put two fixed 4-5 and 7-8 o'clock views like those I would like to see in AH. But who knows?
"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

making the view system more restrictive does not make it better.  It needs to be less resrtrictive to be "fixed" not more restrictive... but right now, it is the best comprimise I could imagine.

Of all the things that this game has this is one I feel is NOT in need of fixing.

I would prefer HTC work on new planes, new strat stuff like bridges rathere thatn go BACKWARDS to fix somthing that only a fraction of the players want.

Move on folks...nothing to see here!
