Agree, better to be protected than not at all. Of course you're not going to stop the determined hacker, after all if they can hack NASA they can hack your desktop PC but you will stop the casual hackers who are often the little toejams that spread trojan's and other viruses. People break into high security banks but you still close your front door at night, it won't stop the determined intruder but will stop the casual thief walking away with yout TV and VCR.

 When I first started running Zonealarm a few years back I used to get constant alerts (from port scans). I have found that if Zonealarm is set up properly that should not be the case. If your getting scanned somethings wrong. Go to the above site and check your security. Make sure all ports are stealthed and no one can see your computer.

Just to say, there is a new version of ZA out. I've been using ZA since about 1999. Some versions have made AH unplayable (Stutters etc) some seemed fine. The latest free version (V 3.1.291)... Gives me no problems at all with AH, smooth as silk. Nice new GUI as well :)
