I was flyin' an ME-262 when...
« on: July 22, 2002, 06:56:01 PM »
Last night I was flying my ME-262 (well, not really mine, I didn't own it) between A43 and A42, and had just shot down one B-17 of a flight of three when everything locked up. Worst lock up I've ever had. I could do nothing to get out it other than hit the power switch on my computer. I didn't bother to log back in to see if I lost 200 perkies. But, I do know that I spent several weeks working to get over 200 so that I could fly a 262. So, I'm wondering if I lost the 200? Do you think they're history? Am I gonna need a 6-pack of beer tonight? Will it be another 3 weeks before I can fly a 262 again? Is this a stupid thread, or what?

:)

Strange - my machine locked up too when I destroyed the right B-17 formation plane. First time for me Aces High locked up solid...EVER.  Interesting.

I was in a G6 however... :D

I lost a Me262 for the same reasons last night. I hadn't killed anything yet, though. I was just doing a climbing left turn and *freeze* - hard reset was the only option.

You only lose 1/2 the perks on a CTD, disco, or freeze.

Biggles, I spent 4 weeks and 25 hours to earn the perks to fly a 262 online.

I got shot down by a Dora that I never saw.... nor did I ever fire my 30mms.

To say I was devistated was an understatement. I felt sick man.....

for about 5 minutes..... then I just forgot it :D

Now, where did I put that Macci 202 (another 140 perks to go).

I flew a 262 once, shot down a 262, landed.  Never jumped into another one.  I like the prop planes.  Jets dont do it for me.

I had a hard lock up tonite also, first one in months!

Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Biggles, fly the SPIT MK I....ive been flyin for..oh say about a week and i have 140 somthin (or more) perks.

its a toejamty plane, toejamty plane=high ENY value, High ENY value plane shooting down a low ENY plane=lots of perks.

an average sortie i shoot down 3 or more planes. and unless its a C-47, your going to get at least 1 perk point per plane(like you shoot down another mk.I) , in my average sortie i earn 3-8 perks.

see the plane has 6 .303 machine guns. they dont do jack daniels unless you pump up the nme plane with bullets. usually 200-400 rounds in one spot(like one area, a wing...or the other wing...or fuselage) does it fer me(good thing thers 2400 rounds).
You have to wait till your 200 or less yards away, then load the plane up with them BB's. :D

p.s. make sure your convergance is set to around 200. i think its 200 by default

My computer freezed when I was in a 109 G6 and I was CLOSE of 3 B17's going down. I didnt even attack them, just watching when other people were killing them.

I flew the jet once and didn't care for it either. So now I dont even pay attention to the amount of perk points accumulated. Ive noticed the less you pay attention the faster they accumulate! btw got almost 900 fighter points and will probably never use em!:D

Same thing happened to me last night as well.   A team mate took out the lead B-17, I took out the righthand drone, and the other drone exploded.  Turned to the left and was watching for the kill message when it locked up.

Since the last pacth 1.10, which was awsome by the way. i have had alot of CTD and lockups, more than i ever have had flying in Aces High.

So many i ushally get at least 1 each time i play and somtimes 2 or 3

Dont know why this is wether it is the server or the patch, but untill i stop doing so, ill keep my perkies safe and lay of the perk planes for a while.

CTD for me always looses my perks

There will be no whine before its time. :)

Yep, I lost all 200 perks when I locked up flyin the 262 after shooting down the B-17. I can understand why I would lose all 200 (but I don't like it):  that type of lockup probably "looks" the same as someone doing an Alt-F4. If AH can't tell the difference, then I suppose you have to lose the perks. War is hell...

Another Freeze.  When ever i kill one of them bomber formations my comp freezes, just like the above folks said.  It really makes me think twice about killing buffs.  Irritating indeed.
